The Situation

Nick is a 45-year-old man who lives and works in Indiana.   At age 19, he was diagnosed with the rare kidney disease glomerulonephritis, which led to three years of dialysis. He then received a kidney transplant at age 23.   Nick's new kidney served him well, until it didn't.  With a current kidney function of 10-15%, he is in dire need of a living donor kidney.

The basic criteria in being able to donate are:

• Having a blood type of O- or O+ is ideal, however a Paired Kidney Exchange is possible! 

• Being age 18 or older

• Not being super petite, as Nick is 6' tall
